Lead Us

As elections loom in May, UK voters will choose a leader for their country. Next year Americans will do the same. But leaders come in many different guises, and not all of them can be found on a ballot sheet. We’re giving you the chance to show the world what a real leader looks like (or failing that, just show us where we’re going wrong)

What defines a leader?
Do they command or defer?
Lead from the front or the back?
Good in a crisis, or sage and longsighted?
Do we pick them, or do they pick themselves?

The tribulations of the shop-floor manager standing firm on Black Friday, foreign policy on the football pitch, or the first intrepid ant to raise its head above the parapet. Come at it from any angle you wish. The characters you create will provoke a debate. I’d bet my vote on it.

2015 theme set by Philip Lindsey, Jack Literary Associate
Please email your submission toadmin@brockleyjack.co.uk

Shorts will be selected in late March and announced on our website.
A further 10 plays not chosen for performance may be selected, with the playwright’s permission, for publication on our website during the Festival.
